DESCRIPTION:Although women are highly qualified in science, they continue to be structurally disadvantaged. They are underrepresented in key positions, less likely to be recognised as experts, and have less speaking time at events. And when they raise their voices, they are more often victims of hate speech. This is not an individual failure, but rather a reflection of a system that distributes visibility, recognition and career opportunities unequally.\n
This training provides a safe space in which to understand these dynamics and reflect on female careers in science. It combines structural perspectives with the individual level. By examining role models, exploring ways to increase visibility and strengthening female networks, the training makes visible the individual and collective resources that can contribute to a solution.\n
The training is aimed at female scientists who want to better understand their role in the system, expand their scope for action, and contribute to greater gender equality in science.\n
Contents- Facts and figures: Gender gaps and hate speech against women in science- Female representation: Tips and tools for increasing your visibility- Female master mind set: Which beliefs hinder me and which help me?- Role models and allies: Telling female success stories- Empowering female networks: How we form bonds and support each other\n
The event is open to all users of the Hamburg Research Academy, participation is free of charge. Please register here.\n
