Orientation Day (April 8, 2026)
Whether you’ve just arrived in Hamburg or are continuing your studies, this Orientation Day helps you start the semester with clarity, confidence, and the right tools.
In this interactive evening session, you’ll learn how to navigate your studies successfully this semester. The program combines practical guidance, academic insights, and space to ask questions.

Reflect & Connect + online Follow-up (May 13, 2026)
Living and studying in Germany is still more of a bumpy road than a smooth ride?
Join us in this workshop to gain more clarity about your achievements and challenges as an international student in Hamburg. You will connect with your peers and work on a plan of how to proceed with your studies, where to seek support – if needed – and how to acknowledge challenges you have already mastered.
What you'll take away:
- A clear overview of your personal highlights, strengths and hurdles as an international student in Hamburg.
- A personal roadmap for next semester.
- A study buddy with whom you will meet in between our two sessions and who will keep you on track.
- We will spend the day at the beautiful Botanical Garden in Hamburg Klein-Flottbek with plenty of space to take walks during breaks or to find a quiet spot to discuss your questions with your study buddy.

This workshop creates a safe space to explore personal boundaries, body language, and self-protection — physically and mentally.
Through guided exercises, you’ll reflect on topics like saying no, personal space, people-pleasing patterns, and feeling safe in new environments.

In this session, you’ll experience mock interviews based on real recruiting situations — with feedback and practical tips from company representatives.
You’ll gain:

Academic Cultures (May 29, 2026)
How do I approach professors at German universities? How do I prepare for a meeting with a lecturer to discuss the topic of my term paper? What exactly is a term paper and what is actually expected of me?
Arriving at a German university can be a challenge. University communication, teaching methods and academic practice differ slightly from country to country. They are based on unspoken values, norms, and roles and the resulting expectations.
The aim of the workshop is to shed light on these unspoken rules. A reflective look at communication, relationships and expectations with lecturers, fellow students and other members of the university helps to better understand how to navigate the German higher education system safely and successfully, and how to get the support you need.

Emotional Awareness and Resilience (July 3, 2026)
The term resilience describes the ability to adapt to new situations, even when things get difficult. People with a high level of resilience can deal well with such situations and emerge stronger. They can control their emotions, adapt to setbacks and maintain a positive attitude even under pressure. In resilience training, you will learn various methods and techniques to strengthen your resilience.
Learning objectives:
- We clarify what resilience is and which factors and skills can help you to overcome challenging situations.
- We identify typical and personal stress factors, learn and reflect on methods to reduce stress and promote calmness.

Employer Spotlight: Visit Hapag-Lloyd Headquarters (July 1, 2026)
Join a visit to the Hapag-Lloyd headquarters and get to know one of the world’s leading container liner shipping companies.
With around 305 modern container vessels, an annual transport volume of approximately 12.5 million TEU (standard containers) and about 17,400 employees in more than 400 offices across 140 countries, Hapag-Lloyd plays an important role in global trade and the movement of goods around the world.
During the visit, you will get a first-hand look at the company and learn how global shipping works in practice. The session will start with a short introduction to Hapag-Lloyd and an overview of possible entry opportunities such as internships and working student positions.
You will also hear directly from colleagues working in different departments who will share insights into their day-to-day work and current topics in the shipping industry. This is a great opportunity to ask questions, learn more about different career paths and get a better understanding of what working in a global company looks like.
The visit will also include a short office tour of the Hapag-Lloyd headquarters. The afternoon will conclude with time for questions and informal networking with the team.
